Founded in 1303, Sapienza is the oldest university in Rome and the largest in Europe. Its mission is to contribute to the development of a knowledge society through research, excellence, quality education and international cooperation.
Sapienza University is organised into 11 Faculties, one School with a Special Statute and 58 Departments (as established by Sapienza Statute). The Departments are coordinated by the Faculties.
The School of Advanced Studies – SSAS in Italian, promotes excellence in education and research by offering a complementary, highly-qualified training pathway that complements the curricular pathways.
