Located in a lush ravine near Coñaripe, Chile, the Termas Geométricas is a hot springs complex designed by Germán del Sol. Completed in 2004, it is composed of red-painted wooden walkways and simple pavilions that stretch over 450 meters through a narrow, steaming volcanic gorge in the Villarrica National Park.
The design follows the natural geometry of the landscape, guiding visitors through a linear sequence of thermal pools, waterfalls, and wooden shelters. Built with minimal intervention, local materials, and a light environmental footprint, the architecture frames the sensory experience of bathing in nature, enhancing both intimacy and immersion.
Termas Geométricas is a celebrated example of architecture in harmony with nature, where structure, water, heat, and atmosphere come together to create a meditative and elemental retreat.
