Ahmedabad House – Studio Mumbai

Ahmedabad House – Studio Mumbai

2022

Designed by Studio Mumbai, Ahmedabad House is built from concrete and earthen bricks pressed on-site using soil excavated for the foundation. Rooted in local materials and climate-responsive design, the house features shaded courtyards as semi-public interior zones, providing relief from the region’s intense heat.

A green marble-lined pool offers passive cooling, while the surrounding native trees help retain moisture and temper the dry environment as they mature. The project embodies Studio Mumbai’s ethos of craft, sustainability, and place-based architecture.
