Fukita Pavillion, Shodoshima, Japan – Ryue Nishizawa

2013

A peaceful shelter within the sacred Fukita Shrine at Shodoshima Island. Dubbed the Fukita Pavilion, this holy space is made from two simple curved metal sheets. One of the surfaces rests on the ground, while the other one seems to float above while being pierced by a tree.
