Google Bay View Campus, designed by BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group and Heatherwick Studio in collaboration with Google, is the company’s first ground-up campus, aiming to operate on 24/7 carbon-free energy by 2030. Located on 42 acres at NASA Ames Research Center in Silicon Valley, the 1.1 million sq ft development includes two office buildings, a 1,000-person event center, 240 short-term housing units, and 20 acres of open space.
The design features lightweight canopy structures that optimize natural light, views, and flexibility, aligning with Google’s values of innovation, nature, and community. Offices are organized with focus spaces above and collaboration zones below, creating adaptable team “neighborhoods” that evolve with changing needs. Bay View serves as a prototype for sustainable, human-centered workplaces, scalable across the tech and construction industries.
